Essential Job Duties

Senior level study manager is needed for a high profile community based study of environmental exposure to water contaminants. The position will involve coordination of recruitment, screening, scheduling, and the conduct of data and specimen collection activities for approximately 400 (adults and children) living in the Cape Fear River Basin community. It will also involve the development of a comprehensive manual of operations to be used for role-based training of study team members. The study manager will train the study team and also complete in-person monitoring of the staff. The study manager will be responsible for maintaining participant contact lists and tracking study activities to ensure that all elements are completed. The study manager will also prepare all regulatory submissions to the NCSU Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Other Work/Responsibilities
Minimum Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of research experience or Master’s degree with at least 5 years of research experience.

Departmental Required Skills

Epidemiologic study management; experience in the conduct of epidemiologic studies and development and implementation of Institutional Review Board protocols. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of research experience or Master’s degree with at least 5 years of research experience.

Required License or Certification

Certified Project Management Professional preferred.
