Essential Job Duties

For almost four decades, EFNEP has been helping limited resource youth and families with children learn to eat healthier meals and snacks, make better use of food dollars and reduce the risk of food-borne illnesses. In collaboration with many organizations through the “Eat Smart, Move More” initiative, NC EFNEP aims to help reduce the rising tide of obesity by teaching youth and families practical skills resulting in changed behaviors to eat smart, move more and achieve a healthy weight.

Adult EFNEP reaches families with incomes at or below the poverty threshold, or families that qualify for federal food assistance programs (WIC, Food Stamps, TANF, Head Start, free or reduced school lunches) when these families have school-age or younger children living in the home. Pregnant women who qualify for WIC also qualify for EFNEP.
