Essential Job Duties

The Web Specialist reports to the PDPS faculty. This position supports faculty with the effective use of instructional technology and is responsible for maintaining the departmental website. The Web Specialist will attend seminars and workshops for instructional technology provided by DELTA (Distance Education Learning Technology Applications) and will provide faculty with hands-on instruction on technical capabilities, as well as best practices when using instructional technology in courses. Will advise faculty in the best use of instructional technology for blended or online learning. Will provide user support for instructional technologies.

Other Work/Responsibilities

Work with faculty to develop and maintain online courses using Moodle and Wolfware Outreach
∙ Maintain WordPress-based departmental website
∙ Provide assistance with support tasks associated with instructional technologies.
Attend DELTA (Distance Education Learning Technology Applications) seminars and workshops and function as a liaison between faculty and DELTA

Minimum Experience/Education
Departmental Required Skills

∙ Experience developing Moodle-based courses and course materials
∙ Experience with Mediasite for classroom, workshop, and off-site capture
∙ Experience with WordPress-based content creation and basic site administration
∙ Experience with HTML and CSS
∙ Strong general computer skills

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Instructional design experience
∙ Knowledge of computer support
∙ Experience with Wolfware Outreach
Experience with video production and editing
