North Carolina Cooperative Extension gives our residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University. Through educational programs, publications and events, Cooperative Extension agents deliver unbiased, research-based information to North Carolina citizens.

Essential Job Duties

Dare County’s NC State Extension is accepting applications for a Camp Site Coordinator. Responsibilities include supervision of adults, handling a large volume of phone calls, detail oriented paperwork, working with children, implementing 4-H curriculum and being an active part of all camp activities.

Site Coordinators oversee individual camps according to location and are responsible for the overall upkeep of the facility. They manage daily operations; safety of all employees and youth; fire drills, scheduling staff and events. Administrative duties include daily parent/guardian greetings and departures; daily camper attendance records; Division of Social Services reporting; financial transactions; youth and staff discipline; inventory and purchasing requests; and other duties as assigned. Staff may include one-on-one workers, camp counselors, and youth.

Site Coordinators are responsible for communication with other camp site coordinators; site staff and faculty; bus drivers and parents/guardians; and daily communication with NC State Extension staff.

Temporary (extended) Range for
On Site Coordinator: June 19 – August 7, 2017

Pay Range: $10-12 per hour, based on experience.

Dare County’s NC State Extension will contact qualified candidates for an interview. Background checks will be conducted by NC State and Dare County after the interview for qualifying candidates. Finger printing is also required by Dare County.

Other Work/Responsibilities
Minimum Experience/Education

NC Early Childhood Administrator Credentials and/or NC Early Childhood Education Credentials

Departmental Required Skills

Must possess strong computer, clerical, customer service and communication skills. Must possess a flexible and adaptable thought process.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Advanced training in child care/early education related field is preferred.

Basic School Age Care (BSAC) certificate, First Aid and CPR certification a plus.

North Carolina Early Childhood Education Administrator Credential is advantageous.

Required License or Certification

Proof of a valid Driver’s License and printed Driver’s License history is required.
