North Carolina Cooperative Extension gives our residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University. Through educational programs, publications, and events, Cooperative Extension field faculty deliver unbiased, research-based information to North Carolina citizens.
Franklin and Warren counties are located in the Northeastern Piedmont of North Carolina. Both counties support large and small-scale agricultural production. Franklin and Warren Cooperative Extension Centers are located in Louisburg, NC and Warrenton, NC respectively. The two counties are home for a total population of approximately 83,000. Public education includes the Franklin County School System, Warren County School System and Vance-Granville Community College. Franklin County is also home to Louisburg College.
|Essential Job Duties||
For almost four decades, EFNEP has been helping limited resource youth and families with children learn to eat healthier meals and snacks, make better use of food dollars and reduce the risk of food-borne illnesses. In collaboration with many organizations through the “Eat Smart, Move More” initiative, NC EFNEP aims to help reduce the rising tide of obesity by teaching youth and families practical skills resulting in changed behaviors to eat smart, move more and achieve a healthy weight.
Adult EFNEP reaches families with incomes at or below the poverty threshold, or families that qualify for federal food assistance programs (WIC, Food Stamps, TANF, Head Start, free or reduced school lunches) when these families have school-age or younger children living in the home. Pregnant women who qualify for WIC also qualify for EFNEP.
While performing this role the Adult EFNEP PA:
The Adult/Youth Extension EFNEP Program Assistant/Associate (PA) has the responsibility of identifying, recruiting and working with diverse audiences, specifically the limited resource. The Adult EFNEP PA receives direct supervision from the County Extension Director. Trained in basic nutrition and food safety, the Adult EFNEP PA follows program guidelines for the dissemination of subject-matter content; works with designated audiences; completes, reconciles and submits records and reports; and abides by established policies and guidelines required by State and Federal partners.
The minimum requirement for employment with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service (NCCES) is a high-school diploma or equivalent.

Experience working with limited resource audiences and nutrition education experience preferred.

Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required and must be maintained.
