Essential Job Duties

The Assistant Professor will teach two courses per semester. The Assistant Professor is expected to work successfully with students, faculty and industry partners and participate in faculty governance.

Minimum Education/Experience

Ph.D. in Anthropology or related area by start date (anticipated 8/16/2017).

Departmental Required Skills

Strong teaching and research skills.

Strong skills in archaeological research methods.

A strong record of research and publication with a demonstrated record of extramural research funding or promise of such funding.

A strong commitment to student mentorship.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

An active research and publication agenda in archaeology. An active research and publication agenda in archaeology. The successful candidate will have a primary research focus in the archaeology of prehistoric or historic North America and a strong theoretical foundation. We seek candidates with topical interests that may include but are not limited to, the curation of material or digital data, collections management, and visualization techniques. Candidates will be expected to teach combined graduate/undergraduate courses in their specialty area, undergraduate courses in archaeology, and to mentor graduate students.
