Essential Job Duties

Student IT Specialists work individually and collaboratively to assist library patrons and staff with technology problems, diagnose and resolve computer and network issues, deploy new hardware and software, and manage technology assets. Student Specialists are entrusted with a high level of responsibility and have the opportunity to develop creative solutions to technical challenges. They gain real-world, hands on experience while working alongside IT staff, supporting best-in-class enterprise technology solutions at D.H. Hill, James B. Hunt, and NCSU branch libraries.

Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student

Departmental Required Skills

Experience installing and configuring hardware and applications. Strong customer service and communication skills. Problem solving ability. Able to learn new skills via hands on experience with novel technology and through technical documentation. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
